Working with themes
At nursery Liefdevol, we use themes in which for a number of weeks (4 to 6) we deal with a subject that lives and plays with the children. Working with themes allows us to be developmentally appropriate in a playful way. In addition, children learn through repetition and it helps them absorb information if it is repeated more often.
Outdoor play
Messing around with sand and water, clambering on logs; children love to play outside. The outdoor play area invites children to be creative and also develop outside motor, sensory and socially. The outdoor play area provides motor practice situations so that children learn to handle risks, build self-confidence and learn their own limits. Our group is adjacent to our garden where children can play wonderfully as needed. We strive to go outside with the children every day and also offer activities outside to the children.
